Since 1995 she has been the head of the Electron Microscopy Laboratory and the Structure and Membrane Compartments Group in the Department of Cell Biology (UMR144-CNRS) at Institut Curie, Paris. In 1989 she received her PhD in membrane biology and immunology at the University of Paris VII, under the supervision of Dr Lucio Benedetti, where she specialized in electron microscopy. From 1990 to 1995, she was a post-doctoral fellow, firstly, at the Immunology Center, Marseille, with Dr Jean Davoust, and then in the Department of Cell Biology, Utrecht University, with Professor Hans Geuze. Her research area is related to the intracellular trafficking in the endocytic and exocytic pathways of eukaryotic cells, using cytochemistry and immunocytochemistry at the electron microscopical level as major approaches.
